The Police High Command have revealed details of some challenges it says the Police and Prosecution faced during the Vybz Kartel Murder Trial.
These challenges include alleged attempts to use "obeah rituals" in the form of a cow tongue with the Police witnesses name written on it to scare him into silence.
The revelations came by way of a release this afternoon (thurs) just hours after Kartel and his 3 co-convicts were sentenced to life imprisonment.
Police say the concerns relate to attempts to pervert the course of justice as well as threats made against the Police, the Prosecution, the Crown Witness, members of the Jury and relatives of the victim.
Police say they were unable to disclose these details during the trial out of fear of undermining it. But now that the trial is over, they are no longer obligated to remain silent.
