Veteran dancehall deejay Ninja Man is urging organizers of Sting to restore the discipline in the annual Boxing Day event.
Ninja, also known as "Mr. Sting", is calling for properly organized competitions and for entertainers enlisted to clash to come armed with lyrics.
Ninja Man is expressing concerns following the 2012 staging of Sting held at Jam World, Portmore on Boxing Day.
The Jamaican dance hall is and always has been the heart and soul of reggae music: it is nightclub, news medium, gathering place, church, theater, and schoolhouse all rolled into one. For the many aspiring artists who gravitate from country to city in a never-ending stream, the dance hall is a creative outlet and gateway to fame and glory.
